The feature that makes human beings a living species that constitutes civilization is undoubtedly its ability to communicate beyond instincts. This communication ability is like a mortar that naturally makes individuals social. Human beings are social creatures because they can overcome their individual and species disadvantages against nature only through communication, solidarity and adaptation. In these ways, the individual socializes and communities create societies. Society is, of course, not a concept used to describe groups of people who are disconnected from each other. Society and individual are in constant transition and communication with all socioeconomic and sociocultural aspects. It is not possible to talk about a society-individual relationship that does not interact with each other, although this communication is sometimes in a way from society to individual and sometimes inversely. For this reason, today, the individual needs to know the society in order to know himself, and to know himself in order to know the society. The key concept for deconstructing this need is communication. Because the fact that constructs stereotypical and perceptual connections between individuals is communication. The interdisciplinary nature of communication sciences requires a constant interaction with other sciences such as sociology, psychology, political science, and anthropology. Book; In the context of this interaction, it aims to reveal the mentioned relationship with the perspectives of theorists such as McLuhan, Maslow, Castells and current examples within the framework of both mainstream and critical paradigms.
